Job summary

Mercury is seeking a Senior Design Manager for Core Experiences to lead product designers shaping AI-native interfaces across our suite of products. You will drive the craft, set strategy with Product and Engineering, and build a resilient team that thrives on creative risk taking and high-quality output.

You will influence interaction systems, collaborate with Design Systems, and mentor designers to elevate the broader Mercury experience. This is a remote-ready role with a strong design culture.

Qualifications

• Experience designing AI-powered or consumer software with strong prototyping skills.
• Close partnership with Design Systems and deep motion/interaction expertise.
• Ability to shape strategy and lead product designers to high craft and independent thinking.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve Mercury’s interaction philosophy for AI-native experiences across products.
• Set exceptional product quality standards across Interfaces, guiding mobile, dashboard, and agentic products.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of product designers with room to take creative risks.
• Shape product strategy with Product and Engineering, engaging early in ambiguous problems.
• Stay close to the work with critique, prototyping, and hands-on collaboration to turn ideas into usable experiences.
• Raise craft and product-thinking across Mercury’s Design organization with shared frameworks and ideas.
