Job summary

Client is seeking a Lead Design Engineer to shape design systems and standards powering AI-assisted design and code generation for web and mobile experiences. This remote role collaborates with designers and engineers to translate system decisions into reliable products while using feedback to guide future improvements.

Responsibilities include developing core components, governing design quality, and establishing governance models to balance speed with integrity.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in design engineering, design systems, product design, or front-end engineering for web and mobile applications.
• Portfolio required showcasing design system or component library work, including case studies or code samples
• Strong interaction and visual design skills with the ability to discern when to use established patterns versus inventing new ones
• Experience with design tokens, theming, and accessibility standards
• Familiarity with AI tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Figma Make and the ability to connect them to a design system

For our client, we are seeking a Lead Design Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space.

This role will shape the design systems and engineering standards that power AI-assisted design and code generation across web and mobile experiences. You will work at the intersection of design, front-end engineering, and governance to raise quality, consistency, and performance at scale. The position partners closely with designers and engineers to turn system decisions into reliable products and to use feedback and usage data to guide future improvements.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $151,300 – $195,800 annually
