Ladders seeks a Principal Experience Designer - Visual Design & Design Systems to shape the visual language and foundations for scalable product experiences. You will collaborate with product design, engineering and product management to translate design intent into production-ready patterns, assets, and guidance.

This remote US-based role requires a strong portfolio and deep experience in design systems and enterprise products to elevate high-visibility initiatives and events.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in product design, visual design, UX, or related fields, particularly with platform or enterprise products
• Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Portfolio showcasing exceptional visual craft and scalable product systems
• Hands‑on experience with AI‑assisted design or prototyping workflows
• Experience defining or evolving a design system's visual language

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the visual language across design elements and product experiences
• Collaborate with sub‑teams to ensure consistent visual design across assets and experiences
• Partner with product design, product management, and engineering to translate design into production
• Maintain a scalable token architecture that supports consistent user experiences
• Create and manage a library of reference designs for real product applications
• Provide visual usage guidance and documentation for designers and engineers
• Evaluate AI-generated designs to improve design tokens and guidance
• Lead visual design for high‑stakes events and presentations

For our client, we are seeking a Principal Experience Designer - Visual Design & Design Systems to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space.

This role will shape the visual language and design system foundations that support a scalable, consistent product experience across the organization. You will work closely with product design, engineering, and product management to translate design intent into production-ready patterns, guidance, and assets. The position also calls for strong collaboration across sub-teams and the ability to elevate high‑visibility presentations and events through polished visual execution.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $190,000 – $315,000 annually
