Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Lead Scientist/Engineer to define, architect, integrate, and validate Integrated Air and Missile Defense capabilities within the Strategic Defense business line. This hands-on senior role focuses on translating operational needs into system behavior and verifying performance through modeling, simulation, and hardware/software integration.

Qualifications

Extensive hands-on engineering experience across defense, aerospace, radar, missile, or C2 systems.
Strong systems engineering, software engineering, controls, or related technical discipline background.
Experience with fire-control, engagement chains, sensor-to-shooter interfaces, timing/latency, and safety interlocks.

Responsibilities

Lead system and mission architecture for end-to-end IAMD kill chains spanning sensing, track formation, identification, threat evaluation, weapon assignment, engagement planning, fire-control execution, and kill assessment.
Define and mature fire-control functionality, including engagement-quality track requirements and sensor-to-shooter interfaces.
Develop dynamic sensor-tasking approaches based on threat priority and track quality.
Translate operational needs into testable system requirements, behaviors, interfaces, and performance measures.
Build and review engineering artifacts: architectures, interface definitions, requirements, diagrams, tests, and safety analyses.
Engage with government and industry partners to resolve technical issues and shape deployable solutions.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship while remaining hands-on in analysis, design reviews, integration, and test.
