Job summary

Anduril Industries in Irvine, CA, is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Lead for the Air Defense Engineering Team. You will own the operating cadence of a large software group, drive sprint delivery, and coordinate across product, engineering, and mission success to ship autonomous defense technologies.

You will mentor engineers, scale leadership, and partner with senior engineers to align roadmaps with program goals while ensuring high-quality software releases.

Qualifications

• Extensive software engineering or lead experience with cross-team collaboration.
• Strong knowledge of C++, Rust, Python, and Go.
• Experience with Agile methods and Jira/Confluence tools.
• Ability to own and drive sprint execution and Jira boards.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience running projects with minimal oversight.
• Eligible for U.S. security clearance and travel up to 30–50%.

Responsibilities

• Lead software sprints and drive release readiness across multiple sprint teams.
• Manage development and deployment of major, minor, and patch releases for multiple products.
• Mentor a small team of engineers to build strong processes and future leaders.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to enable autonomous systems development and deployment.
• Drive cross-team software projects and instill efficient workflows.
• Partner with engineering leaders to align roadmaps and staffing with goals.
• Define processes for communicating program status across groups.
• Help define the roadmap for the Air Defense Software team.
