Guzman Energy seeks a Manager of Day-Ahead Scheduling and Real-Time Trading to lead a 24/7 desk in Denver, CO. You will supervise Real-Time Traders and Schedulers, drive playbooks, and own desk performance and escalation protocols in a fast-moving energy market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline.
• 3+ years of real-time power trading, day-ahead scheduling, or system operations experience.
• Prior mentorship, training, or peer-leadership responsibility on a trading or operations desk.
• Working knowledge of transmission scheduling and procurement: OASIS mechanics, PTP rights, e-tagging, and interchange scheduling.
• Ability to make fast, sound decisions under pressure and to direct others while doing it.
• Clear written and verbal communication; ability to coach a trainee and write event summaries.
• Proficiency with trading platforms such as OATI WebTrader, webSmartOASIS, and webSmartTag, plus Microsoft Excel.
• Willingness to cover shifts and respond to off-hours escalation when needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise traders and schedulers on shift during business hours; serve as escalation point for pricing, scheduling, and reliability questions.
• Deliver onboarding and training curriculum for new traders, schedulers, and trainees; track progression.
• Maintain the published shift schedule and handle time-off requests; contribute to performance reviews.
• Lead day-ahead scheduling, load/resource submissions, and market data quality checks before deadlines.
• Oversee real-time loads, resources, and storage assets; ensure trades align with approved strategy.
