Job summary

Peregrine Advisors in the Washington, DC area is seeking a senior database engineer to own the database layer of a federal enterprise data platform. You will design, implement, and tune physical models across Aurora, DynamoDB, and Iceberg on S3 to ensure scalable, auditable performance.

You will work closely with engineers and analysts to deliver reliable data services and will drive schema migrations, access controls with Apache Ranger, and optimized queries.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of database development and admin experience.
• Experience with large data platforms and auditability.
• Ability to design scalable data models and physical design.

Responsibilities

• Own the database layer's physical design for large datasets.
• Tune queries and execution plans on big data workloads.
• Perform schema migrations and S3 data loading into stores.
• Implement and manage access controls (Apache Ranger).
