Job summary

Peregrine Advisors is seeking a data platform engineer to own queries, stored procedures, and data models for a federal agency data platform. You will work with Amazon Aurora (PostgreSQL-compatible), DynamoDB, S3, and Iceberg to turn raw data into usable information.

The role is hybrid and based in the Washington, DC metro area. The ideal candidate has strong SQL, data modeling, and data-loading experience, with a focus on accuracy, performance, and governance.

Qualifications

• Solid SQL on Amazon Aurora (PostgreSQL-compatible) with stored procedures/views.
• Experience with query tuning, data loading, and connectivity, with version control and clean delivery.
• Experience developing logical data models and database schemas within an established platform architecture.

Responsibilities

• Own queries, stored procedures, views, and data models for assigned data platform components.
• Build and maintain components in Amazon Aurora and related storage/processing tools.
• Ensure accuracy, performance, and governed access for data workloads.
