Job summary

REV Renewables in Houston seeks a Lead Data Systems Engineer to own the platform architecture, data pipelines, core applications, and daily operations. This is a hands-on role with technical leadership responsibilities.

You will maintain a production system supporting trade capture, valuation, settlements, position management, and risk analytics, working with traders, analysts, and IT to keep the platform secure, reliable, and scalable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
• 7+ years of experience owning production data platforms or trading systems.
• Strong Python skills including time-series, dataframes, columnar storage, and API development.
• Experience with production operations, testing, deployment, and incident response.
• Knowledge of security, access controls, and auditability in energy trading environments.
• Experience integrating language models with enterprise data and tools.
• Experience using AI coding assistants and validating logic before production.
• Excellent communication and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Strong ownership and ability to work independently in a lean front-office team.
• Preferred: US power markets, AI apps, cloud infra (Docker/Kubernetes/Helm/AWS EKS).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain core ETRM systems, libraries, APIs, and data pipelines.
• Guide platform architecture and establish patterns for reliability.
• Develop infrastructure for intelligent automation with secure access and controls.
• Maintain engineering quality with testing, docs, and deployment best practices.
• Own production reliability, incident response, monitoring, and runbooks.
• Protect data with access controls, change management, and audit trails.
• Ensure accurate, auditable reporting for trading, risk, and finance.
• Collaborate with IT to define cloud and infra requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and hands-on support to traders and analysts.
