Job summary

ParetoHealth, Inc. is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to independently lead applied AI and data science workstreams translating healthcare data into improved risk selection, pricing accuracy, and underwriting experience.

You will manage problem framing, feature engineering, model development, and deployment with cross-functional partners. You will build internal AI products, advance governance and explainability practices, and align workstreams to ParetoPredict roadmap with the VP of AI and VP

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in Statistics, Data Science, CS, Mathematics, Engineering, or related quantitative field; advanced degree a plus
• 8+ years in data science, ML, statistics, actuarial analytics with healthcare/insurance data
• Advanced Python and SQL with scikit-learn, XGBoost, GBMs; PySpark preferred; PyTorch a plus

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery for predictive underwriting and pricing workstreams from framing to deployment and monitoring
• Develop, validate, and compare models and hybrid rule/model approaches
• Ensure model governance, explainability, and responsible-AI practices across projects
• Collaborate with Business, AI, and Engineering to translate evidence into actionable business outcomes
