Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Lead Data Privacy Engineer to design and implement scalable privacy solutions that protect sensitive data while enabling business innovation. You will work with cybersecurity, engineering, legal, compliance, and data teams to embed privacy-by-design principles across the enterprise.

The role focuses on risk assessments, regulatory compliance, and developing enterprise data protection capabilities to safeguard consumer data at scale.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Privacy Engineering, Security Engineering, Data Protection, Cybersecurity, or related technical disciplines with GDPR/CCPA/HIPAA experience.
• 5+ years designing and implementing enterprise data protection capabilities (encryption, tokenization, data classification, DLP, etc.).
• 5+ years hands-on experience with programming/scripting languages (Python, Java, Go, etc.).
• 5+ years experience in cloud and DevSecOps environments (CI/CD, IaC, security automation).
• 3+ years leading enterprise-scale privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, or compliance initiatives with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategy and continuous improvement of enterprise data protection and privacy engineering across data environments.
• Design and optimize PETs (encryption, tokenization, anonymization, data classification, DLP).
• Collaborate with engineering, product, legal, compliance, and security teams to embed privacy-by-design.
• Conduct privacy risk/impact assessments, threat modeling, and control evaluations for audits and regulatory obligations.
• Drive governance metrics, automation, and data protection initiatives across the organization.
