Virtuous is evolving its data platform into an AI-ready foundation that powers trusted decision-making and self-service analytics across the company. We’re hiring a Lead Data Platform Engineer to design, build, and own the systems that power our data ecosystem.

This role focuses on durable platform capabilities—security models, access patterns, cost controls, and shared data foundations—so teams and AI systems can use data safely at scale.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering or platform engineering with production ownership.
• Deep Snowflake expertise: RBAC, row‑level and column‑level security, cost optimization and governance.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with ELT/ETL pipelines.
• Proven ability to design durable data platform components and patterns.

Responsibilities

• Own the evolution of the data platform on Snowflake and dbt, ensuring security, scalability, and AI-readiness.
• Design data models, metadata, and access patterns to support AI-assisted analysis.
• Collaborate with Data Operations, Security, Finance, Product, and Engineering to ensure accurate and governable data.
• Build and enforce platform-level governance, access controls, and auditable query activity.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines for dbt and Snowflake, with testing and deployment patterns.
• Lead technical direction and cross-functional collaboration for data-related initiatives.
