Job summary

Egen in Nashville seeks an experienced Data Platform Architect to lead end-to-end data lakehouse initiatives on Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, and Dataplex. You will design scalable architectures, guide real-time and batch pipelines, and ensure robust data governance and security.

You will mentor engineers, partner with clients and cloud architects, and drive long-term maintainability and adoption of data platforms across engagements.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of progressive Software Engineering and Data Platform experience.
• 5+ years architecting data platforms on GCP and/or Databricks.
• Strong understanding of data ingestion, ETL/ELT, and orchestration.
• Experience with data governance, security, and cataloging solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end architecture, design, and implementation of data lakehouse solutions on GCP using BigQuery, GCS, BigLake, and Dataplex.
• Collaborate with customers to translate business goals into architectural blueprints and actionable plans.
• Design and implement real-time and batch data pipelines with modern orchestration and streaming frameworks.
• Establish best practices for data cataloging, metadata management, lineage, and data quality across systems.
• Define and enforce data security and governance in line with enterprise standards.
• Mentor engineers, review solutions, and ensure architectural consistency across deliverables.
• Balance strategic discussions with hands-on delivery and performance tuning.
• Partner with stakeholders to drive adoption, scalability, and maintainability of solutions.
• Represent the company as a technical advisor in client engagements with clear trade-offs and recommendations.
