Job summary

MFS is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to unify and harmonize investment data. You will design and implement scalable data pipelines, dbt models in Snowflake, and ensure data quality across a unified data platform. The role emphasizes collaboration with EDMS, analytics teams, and vendors.

Ideal candidates have 5–6+ years in data engineering, strong SQL, dbt, and cloud experience, with a background in financial data. This is a hybrid role in the United States with a competitive total rewards package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related disciplines.
• 5–6+ years of design, development, and building data-oriented complex applications.
• 2–4 years of hands-on SQL, including advanced SQL.
• Experience developing and maintaining data models in dbt with hands‑on experience.
• Experience managing dbt transformation workflows and scalable modular design patterns.
• Experience in data integration, data warehouse, and analytics architecture; cloud-native databases.
• Knowledge of cloud PAAS platforms (Azure / GCP / AWS) and Agile SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement data pipelines to maintain the unified data platform.
• Create and maintain technical design and architecture documentation.
• Develop and execute comprehensive unit tests with clear test results.
• Develop and maintain dbt models in Snowflake; ensure architecture alignment.
• Lead and participate in development activities to meet business requirements.
• Support new and ongoing data pipelines from internal and external sources.
