MFS Investment Management is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to join the Enterprise Data Management Office and help unify our investment data. You will design and implement data pipelines, maintain dbt models in Snowflake, and partner across teams to deliver trusted data for investment, risk, and client reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related disciplines.
• 5-6+ years of experience designing and building data-oriented applications.
• 2-4 years of hands-on experience from SQL to Advanced SQL.
• Hands-on dbt development and data modeling experience.
• Experience managing dbt transformation workflows.
• Experience in ETL/ELT, data warehouse, and analytics architecture with Snowflake and cloud databases.
• Experience on cloud PAAS platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Strong knowledge of Agile SDLC, DevOps, and diverse tech environments.
• Knowledge of UD M, data mesh, event-driven architectures, and real-time data flows.
• Experience in financial services data domain is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and cross-team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement data pipelines for the unified data platform.
• Create and maintain technical design and architecture docs.
• Develop and execute unit tests and document results.
• Develop and maintain dbt models in Snowflake with business logic.
• Lead dbt projects and ensure code quality and documentation.
• Build scalable data pipelines and a robust data warehouse for reporting.
• Lead development activities to meet business requirements.
• Develop data pipelines from internal and external systems.
• Drive data quality, resiliency, and operational reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex system interactions and root causes.
• Collaborate with platform/data architects to upgrade integration tools.
• Support enterprise architecture alignment and modernization initiatives.
• Leverage AI-assisted development and automation to improve productivity.
• Provide support during outages.
