Job summary

CVS Health Corporation in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to own the data foundation for the Medicare revenue engine. You will design, build, and operate data pipelines and analytic tables supporting member-month, diagnosis history, and CMS data, ensuring timeliness, completeness, and auditability.

You will collaborate with Finance, Actuarial, and Modeling teams, implement Databricks/Spark lakehouse patterns, and mentor other data engineers in a regulated

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data engineering.
• 4+ years healthcare data (claims, encounters, eligibility, provider, and chart sources).
• 4+ years Databricks / Spark (PySpark), Python, SQL / Lakehouse / ELT patterns.
• 4+ years supporting risk-adjustment, actuarial, or finance workloads.
• Strong PHI, HIPAA controls knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate data pipelines feeding the Medicare revenue projection model.
• Ingest, normalize, and reconcile: claims/encounters, eligibility, EMR/chart extracts, CMS artifacts.
• Implement HCC / ICD-10 mapping and model-year versioning.
• Own data quality, reconciliation, lineage and snapshot processes for accruals and audits.
• Partner with Databricks lakehouse standards: Spark/PySpark, orchestration, CI/CD, access control.
• Provide trusted datasets to Modeling, Finance, Actuarial, and Revenue Integrity.
• Define SLAs for freshness; monitor drift and source-system changes.
• Lead and mentor data engineers; set engineering practices in a regulated environment.
