Job summary
CVS Health Corporation is seeking a Principal Data Engineer to own the data foundation for the Medicare revenue engine. You will design, implement, and operate data pipelines, harmonize claims/encounters and CMS artifacts, and ensure data quality and auditability for finance forecasting.
The role requires 8+ years in data engineering with 4+ years in healthcare data and hands-on Databricks/Spark, PySpark, Python, SQL, and orchestration tools like Airflow, plus knowledge of PHI/HIPAA controls.
Qualifications
- 8+ years in data engineering for healthcare
- 4+ years handling claims/encounters/eligibility/provider data and clinical/chart sources
- 4+ years of hands-on production with Databricks/Spark, PySpark, Python and SQL
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate data pipelines and analytic tables for Medicare revenue projection
- Ingest, normalize, and reconcile claims/encounters and CMS artifacts
- Own data quality, lineage, and snapshot/freeze processes for accruals and audits
- Lead data engineers and set engineering practices for regulated environments
- Define SLAs for data freshness and monitor source-system changes
