Job summary

Walker Sands, a leading B2B marketing agency, seeks a Lead Data Engineer to drive the data infrastructure behind client reporting, measurement, internal operations, and AI-driven work. You will shape architecture, own pipelines, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver scalable data solutions.

Reporting to the SVP, DATA, you’ll guide a small data team, balance build-vs-buy decisions, and ensure data quality and governance across platforms.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data or analytics engineering with leadership experience.
• Deep, hands-on Snowflake experience.
• Strong dbt, advanced SQL, and working Python.
• Experience integrating SaaS and marketing APIs via ELT tools and pipelines.
• Track record of shaping technical direction, not just executing tickets.
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead data engineering efforts, build and maintain pipelines and dbt models in Snowflake.
• Integrate data from paid media, web analytics, SEO, CRM, and business systems.
• Govern data with access controls, privacy, and consent requirements.
• Structure data for AI use with clear semantics and metadata.
• Lead a small data support team and scale as needed.
• Collaborate with leadership on architecture, roadmap, and build-vs-buy decisions.
