Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Physical Security Engineer to lead security designs for data center facilities across the Americas and beyond.

You will guide construction drawings, specifications, and security standards while collaborating with internal teams and external vendors. The role requires extensive experience in physical security engineering for mission-critical facilities, strong interpretation of drawings, and the ability to manage multiple fast-paced projects with travel up

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related technical field.
• 7+ years of physical security engineering experience in industrial or commercial facilities.
• 2+ years of physical security engineering experience in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation, or oil and gas generation.
• Experience carrying physical security design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.

Responsibilities

• Lead designs (construction drawings and specifications) for physical security elements for DC projects.
• Collaborate with security organizations within AWS to develop design standards and evaluate costs and benefits.
• Communicate conceptual designs to internal stakeholders and external consultants.
• Maintain basis of design documents, prototypes, and template specifications for physical security elements.
• Create security design scope of work for DC project RFPs.
• Review and direct the work of physical security engineering design consultants.
• Travel for site assessments and design meetings; anticipated travel not to exceed 20%.
