Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Chief Engineer in Ohio to oversee electrical and mechanical facilities, emergency response, and preventative maintenance.

You will lead a team of EOTs and coordinate with vendors while ensuring safety and peak efficiency across critical systems. The role requires 3+ years in facilities maintenance, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to travel between data centers as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of electrical and mechanical facilities maintenance.
• 3+ years of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel experience.
• Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary escalation point for facilities-related issues and manage critical systems.
• Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting within SLAs.
• Provide guidance to Engineering Operations Technicians and coordinate with Facility Manager.
• Create and deploy standard practices for engineers and vendor teams.
• Assist in building out new facilities and improve current efficiency.
• Occasionally work outside normal hours for maintenance and emergencies.
• Communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Coordinate projects with IT managers to optimize safety, performance, and reliability.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed by all staff.
• Establish benchmarks, analyze data, and report on facility operations.
• Utilize Office tools for day-to-day tasks.
