Job summary

Digital Realty in Sterling, VA is hiring a Lead Engineer to expand skills in mission-critical data center facilities operations for the world’s largest wholesale data center provider. You will work at least 40 hours per week in a dynamic, safe environment that rewards learning and growth.

You will monitor and maintain critical systems, coordinate with vendors, and support customers’ infrastructure while following procedures to ensure uptime and safety.

Qualifications

• AA/AS degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Data center experience strongly preferred.
• Trade license or certification through technical education/training.
• Facilities maintenance certification is required.
• Experience with mission critical data equipment.
• Strong HVAC, mechanical, and electrical skills.
• Understanding of computer systems; MS Office skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends.
• Ability to walk, work outdoors, and lift heavy objects.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and troubleshoot building infrastructure systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on building equipment.
• Assemble and commission data center equipment.
• Prepare Change Management Forms and MOPs.
• Schedule procedures with vendors and ensure safety compliance.
• Respond to emergencies and customer concerns as needed.
