Job summary

QTS Data Centers is seeking a Regional Principal DCIM – Controls Build Quality Engineer (CBQE) to lead on-site the successful implementation of BMS, EPMS, PLC, and SCADA systems for new data center construction. You will manage system integrator performance, drive standardization, and validate design through turnover while serving as the owner’s escalation point for controls issues.

The role requires strong controls engineering and project management experience, with responsibility for ensuring

Qualifications

• 7+ years of instrumentation and controls programming/installation, MEP coordination, and commissioning for data centers or large buildings.
• 3+ years of HVAC control systems and electrical power monitoring experience.
• Engineering or Construction Management degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience with industrial automation and building management control systems (PLC/DDC).

Responsibilities

• Oversee selection, evaluation, and review of system integrators and controls contractors.
• Lead CSI performance across all project phases and resolve escalation issues.
• Onboard and lead BMS leads, CSI, and E&I controls contractors.
• Coordinate audits of packaged equipment and BMS commissioning; track deficiencies.
• Facilitate cross-functional meetings to align project status, risks, and next steps.
• Ensure adherence to DIV25 specs and design deliverables.
