Job summary

WSP USA, a leading engineering and professional services firm, seeks a Lead Building Automation and Controls Engineer to join kW Mission Critical Engineering across offices including New York City and Troy, NY. You will design automation control systems for data centers, integrating HVAC and power monitoring components.

Collaborate with senior engineers, prepare drawings and sequences of operations, and support proposals through construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years designing building automation control systems for commercial/industrial facilities.
• EIT or PE, or ability to become licensed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit.

Responsibilities

• Work in a team or independently, planning and executing engineering tasks within projects.
• Demonstrate understanding of services provided by kW MCE engineering teams.
• Support the team during proposal, design, and construction stages of projects.
• Execute controls design of complex projects.
• Develop drawings and specifications for issuance to architects, contractors, and building owners.
• Attend client meetings and contribute to discussions.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.
• Communicate complex control concepts to clients and stakeholders.
• Integrate mechanical and electrical requirements into facility controls designs.
• Interact with clients to maintain and develop relationships.
• Review shop drawings to ensure design requirements are met.
