Job summary

WSP is seeking a Lead Building Automation and Controls Engineer to design and oversee control systems for data centers and mission critical facilities. You will collaborate with senior engineers to develop control strategies, sequences of operations, and installation drawings across multiple offices including New York City and Troy, NY.

You will lead proposal work, coordinate with vendors, and ensure designs meet applicable codes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or relevant work experience
7+ years designing building automation control systems for commercial, industrial, or mission critical facilities
EIT or Registered Professional Engineer (PE), or the ability to become licensed
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit
Knowledge of building, mechanical, electrical and energy codes
Ability to travel to project sites

Responsibilities

Plan and execute engineering tasks within projects
Support the team during proposal, design and construction stages
Execute controls design of complex projects
Develop drawings and specifications for issuance to architects and contractors
Attend client meetings and contribute to discussions
Coordinate with internal project teams and external equipment vendors
Communicate complex control concepts to clients and stakeholders
Integrate mechanical and electrical requirements into facility controls and monitoring designs
Maintain relationships with clients and develop new ones
Review shop drawings and product details to ensure design requirements
