Job summary

Jobgether seeks a senior data architect to lead enterprise data solutions on Google Cloud, specializing in data lakehouse architectures with BigQuery, GCS, Dataplex, and Databicks.

You will translate client objectives into scalable blueprints, design real-time and batch pipelines, and mentor engineers while ensuring security, governance, and performance at scale. You will interact with executives and delivery teams to drive adoption and long-term maintainability.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive experience in software engineering and data platform development.
• 5+ years architecting data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and/or Databricks.
• Hands-on experience designing and deploying Data Lakehouse platforms, including data products and medallion architectures.
• Strong understanding of real-time and batch data ingestion patterns, ETL/ELT pipeline design, and data orchestration using tools such as Airflow, Pub/Sub, or comparable frameworks.
• Expertise in data modeling, storage optimization, partitioning strategies, and performance tuning for large-scale analytical workloads.
• Experience implementing data governance, security, and cataloging solutions using Dataplex, Data Catalog, IAM, or equivalent technologies.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders and guide clients through complex solution decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers, analysts, and architects while combining architectural vision with hands-on delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end architecture and delivery of Data Lakehouse solutions on GCP (BigQuery, GCS, BigLake, Dataplex).
• Translate client objectives into architectural blueprints and actionable implementation plans.
• Design and implement real-time and batch data pipelines and ingestion processes.
• Establish best practices for data cataloging, metadata management, data lineage, and data quality.
• Define and implement data security, access controls, and governance frameworks.
• Serve as the technical lead, mentoring engineers and maintaining architectural consistency.
• Balance strategic architecture with hands-on development and POCs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure adoption, scalability, and long-term maintainability.
• Act as a trusted advisor, communicating architectural trade-offs and best practices to clients.
