Job summary

THOR Solutions is seeking an experienced Lead Damage Control Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the Navy Readiness Assistance Training Team (RATT) for CNSP in San Diego, CA. The role involves directing Sailor-centric deck-plate training, material reviews, program auditing, and readiness support to enhance ship proficiency for sustained operations at sea.

Qualifications

• Fifteen years of supervisory experience in analyses, information system operations, and implementation of technical projects related to Navy damage control.
• Extensive Navy technical management experience on multiple ships.
• Direct operational and damage control experience within the last five years.
• Proficient with common productivity software including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, schedule, and conduct ship training visits to improve Sailor proficiency in ship systems.
• Develop training resources (references and curriculum) for ship systems and maintenance management.
• Teach and reinforce sound shipboard operating principles through deckplate training.
• Conduct comprehensive material condition assessments for installed equipment and ship systems.
• Review ship maintenance and operating processes for efficacy and improvement.
• Advise ship leadership on crew proficiency and program efficacy.
