Job summary

Peraton is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer - SME/Cloud-based to support its Federal Strategic Cyber programs within the National Capital Region (NCR).

The role requires leading security teams, guiding RMF processes, and advising on risk assessments and control implementations to meet regulatory requirements. Active TS/SCI clearance is required with polygraph capability, plus cloud familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 12 years of experience in secure design, analysis, and test of information security systems and products.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience applying methods, standards and approaches for ensuring the baseline security safeguards are appropriately implemented and documented.
• Must have at least 1 of the listed certifications or advanced degree: various security certs or doctorates.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of contractor security professionals responsible for the end-to-end RMF lifecycle for FBI IT systems.
• Oversee and coordinate activities within the Prepare step with defined roles, responsibilities, and risk management strategies.
• Guide system categorization efforts to ensure appropriate classification based on mission impact and regulatory requirements.
• Advise on selection, tailoring, and documentation of security controls aligned with system categorizations and compliance requirements.
• Oversee implementation of technical, operational, and management controls across lifecycles; ensure deliverables are complete and high quality.
• Ensure comprehensive security control assessments are planned, executed, and documented to validate safeguards.
• Prepare risk management documentation for system authorization and executive decision-making.
