Job summary

UW Medicine IT Services is seeking a Lead Cyber Security Analyst to guide risk assessments, design security controls, and lead a team of analysts. This role focuses on HIPAA, HITRUST, and NIST frameworks to protect patient care and critical operations, with primary responsibilities including threat mitigation and vulnerability management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of experience/education.
• 6+ years of information security experience across risk management, audit, compliance, security engineering or governance.
• 1+ year of formal mentorship for technology professionals.
• Experience leading teams in designing, implementing, or maintaining security tools.
• Experience leading and mentoring security assessments, risk analyses and vulnerability reviews.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee operational activities to meet targets.
• Lead vulnerability and risk assessment activities across UW Medicine entities and vendors.
• Design and implement security tools and platforms aligned with HIPAA, HITRUST, and NIST.
• Integrate threat information into enterprise risk assessments and mitigation plans.
• Maintain UW Medicine's risk register and security documentation.
• Mentor analysts and serve as delegate to customers and project managers.
