Job summary

HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Lead CVOR RN to join our specialized surgical team. You will provide comprehensive nursing care for cardiovascular procedures and function in circulating and scrub roles as needed.

Lead responsibilities include coordinating patient care across perioperative stages, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perfusionists, and managing CVOR equipment. On-call duties apply; RN licensed in Florida with BLS required.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing with an Associate's Degree or higher.
• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state where you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
• A current BLS provider certification (AHA or ARC) is required.
• At least 3 years CVOR experience supporting open-heart, vascular, and/or thoracic surgical procedures is required for the Lead role.
• Prior leadership experience strongly preferred.
• On-call is required during select non-business hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular surgical procedures.
• Function in both circulating and scrub roles during CVOR cases.
• Coordinate patient care before, during, and after surgery.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and surgical staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Manage surgical equipment, supplies, implants, and specialty cardiovascular technology.
• Maintain a safe surgical environment by adhering to infection prevention, regulatory, and patient safety standards.
• Assess patient needs and advocate for safe, high-quality care throughout the perioperative experience.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities.
