Job summary

CW Resources, Inc. is seeking a Lead Custodian at our JBER Alaska location to oversee daily cleanliness and safety while guiding a custodial team that includes adults with disabilities.

You will perform hands-on cleaning, mentor staff, ensure task execution, and track progress, reporting maintenance needs as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years hands-on janitorial experience in commercial, industrial, educational, or government facilities.
• Experience operating commercial cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, carpet extractors, and power washers.
• Comfortable giving instructions and demonstrating cleaning tasks when needed.
• Ability to stay organized, follow daily routines, and keep track of supplies or maintenance needs.
• Valid driver’s license
• Valid Real ID
• Must be able to obtain and maintain government base access.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor custodial staff and guide a team that includes adults with disabilities.
• Teach proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and equipment use.
• Explain tasks, timelines, and performance standards clearly.
• Observe performance, give constructive feedback, and adjust coaching as needed.
• Track progress and accommodations to ensure success.
• Secure the building by locking/unlocking doors at shift start/end.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely (vacuums, floor machines, carts).
• Identify and report maintenance issues and safety hazards.
