Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• At least two years of commercial cleaning experience.
• Ability to supervise other custodial personnel.
• Must communicate effectively in English when needed.
• Ability to read and follow labels, instructions, and manuals.
• Follow simple oral and written directions.
• Knowledge of general custodial duties and equipment operation.
• Good attendance record.
• Able to lift/push/pull at least 50 pounds; climb ladders; work at heights.
• Able to work outside in varying weather.
• Operate custodial equipment (vacuums, floor machines, mowers, trimmers).
• Able to communicate with staff, students, and community members.

Responsibilities

• Maintain communications with Assistant Foreman of Operations on personnel and work issues.
• Assist in training and direct work assignments of Custodian I employees.
• Secure building, lock windows/doors, and set security alarm.
• Assume Building Service Manager role as required for coverage.
• Wash/clean windows, fixtures, ventilators, and items that require climbing.
• Clean and polish desks, chairs, tables, and other equipment.
• Collect and dispose of trash, scrap, and garbage.
• Perform grounds work including policing and snow removal.
• Assist organizations using school facilities.
• Arrange rooms for meetings and conferences.
• Maintain regular on-time attendance.
• Perform related work as required.
