Grand Forks Public Schools is seeking a Lead Custodian to manage custodial staff and perform facility maintenance at an assigned site in Grand Forks, ND. The role focuses on ensuring a clean, safe environment for students and staff, with duties including supervision, cleaning, and coordinating with the Facility Manager.

Qualifications include a HS diploma or GED, supervisory skills, HVAC knowledge, and the ability to lift 60 lbs. 12-month classified position with hours 6:00am–2:30pm, M-F.

Qualifications

• Supervisory and training skills; knowledge of maintenance procedures.
• Experience with HVAC hydronic cooling/heating systems.
• Ability to lift sixty pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assists in supervision of shift custodians with Facility Manager.
• Assists with site snow removal (salting, sanding, sidewalk ice removal) for safety.
• Attends unit meetings, in-service training, for information required to perform job functions.
• Cleans assigned facilities and/or grounds to maintain a sanitary, safe and attractive environment.
• Delivers items to appropriate parties within site.
• Informs staff and students about activities and safety issues.
• Monitors students and staff in work areas to prevent injuries and ensure safety.
• Performs summer maintenance (strip/wax floors, painting, etc.) to facilitate projects.
• Prepares site for daily operations and special events.
