Grand Forks Public Schools is seeking a custodial worker to maintain a clean, safe environment at Central High School. The role includes general custodial duties such as floor care, cleaning, and grounds maintenance. The candidate must possess a high school diploma and be able to lift sixty pounds.
This position requires flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, with a shift differential of $1.00/hour. Interested candidates should be ready to collaborate and assist in various tasks.
High School Diploma or High School Equivalency
Basic knowledge of proper housekeeping, floor care, and maintenance procedures; ability to learn proper equipment operation and new procedures; human relations skills; ability to lift sixty (60) pounds.
Head Custodian or Lead Custodian

Skills are required to perform multiple tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating equipment used in industrial maintenance including electrical cleaning equipment, common tools, etc.; and adhering to safety practices.
Knowledge is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percent, and/or ratios; read and follow instructions; and understand multi-step written and oral instructions. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: methods of industrial cleaning; and safety practices and procedures.
Ability is required to schedule activities; collate data; and use job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a variety of circumstances; work with data utilizing specific, defined processes; and operate equipment using standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with specific, job-related data; and utilize a variety of job-related equipment. Problem solving with data requires following prescribed guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited to moderate. Specific ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adapting to changing work priorities; communicating with diverse groups; meeting deadlines and schedules; working as part of a team; and working with constant interruptions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; occasionally walk and stand. Lift sixty (60) lbs. occasionally, with the ability to reach, stand, walk, carry, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, sit, and/or crawl. Maintain effective audio/visual discrimination and perception to the degree necessary for the successful performance of assigned duties; Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
Twelve (12) Month
Job performance will be evaluated by Supervisor.
Hours: 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm, M-F, 40hrs/week with occasional weekend hours depending on events.
Shift differential pay: $1.00/ hour shift differential pay for evening shift!
School: CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL
