Job summary

California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) seeks a Lead Custodian to supervise a custodial team and lead daily operations across assigned duties.

Under the immediate supervision of the Manager of Custodial Services, you will oversee custodial duties, coordinate safety checks, and ensure quality service for campus facilities. This 0.50 FTE temporary position offers competitive CSU benefits and opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Past experience supervising a small staff.
• Experience leading, directing, and instructing custodial personnel.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning methods and equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate power cleaning equipment.
• Valid California driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a Lead Worker while performing custodial duties; directs work and conducts routine inspections.
• Trains custodians, instructs in use of equipment, and assists with records and reports.
• Coordinates supplies, equipment, and materials to custodial closets; supports events and safety checks.
• May perform supervisor responsibilities in absence of the Supervising Custodian.
