Job summary

Hazelwood School District is seeking a Lead Custodian for Larimore Elementary in Florissant, Missouri. This role oversees daily custodial operations, directs staff, and ensures a clean, safe environment for students and staff.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and custodial experience, with preference for lead experience. It is a full-time role reporting to the Director and Evening Supervisor of Custodial Services.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous custodial experience is required; supervisory or lead experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment.
• Ability to lead, organize and prioritize work assignments.

Responsibilities

• Assign and monitor daily work of custodial staff to ensure completion and quality of tasks.
• Oversee and participate in cleaning and maintenance of the school building and surrounding grounds.
• Respond to spills, accidents, and weather-related issues.
• Promote a positive and cooperative working environment among custodial staff.
• Follow all District policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Perform custodial duties in accordance with District standards.
• Communicate effectively with administration, staff, and outside vendors regarding building needs.
• Monitor building systems and report concerns to the appropriate department.
• Perform minor maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Maintain inventory of custodial supplies and equipment; submit requests for replenishment.
• Maintain required custodial documentation and records related to daily operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
