Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission is seeking a Custodian III for the Corpus Christi State Supported Living Center. The role focuses on high‑level custodial work, cleaning resident homes and facilities, stocking supplies, and ensuring safety and infection control standards.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and 6+ months of custodial experience, with preference for experience in settings serving individuals with disabilities. Overtime and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is preferred.
• At least six months paid custodial/housekeeping experience; one year preferred.
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or mental health disorders is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs highly complex custodial work and provides backup to other custodians.
• Maintains cleaning supplies and equipment and tracks stock levels.
• Cleans and disinfects restrooms, offices, programming areas, residents’ homes, and bedrooms.
• Inspects buildings for cleanliness, safety, and infection control; follows up on issues.
• Assists Custodian Manager with safety and training of staff.
• May require overtime, weekends, or alternate shifts as needed.
