The DM Burr Group in Taylor, Michigan is seeking a full-time Custodian for 1st shift at Trillium Academy. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 3:00pm. Wage is $17.00 per hour and DailyPay is available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or technical certification.
• 0–6 months custodial/janitorial experience.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to read and follow label instructions on cleaning supplies.
• Ability to follow basic verbal and written instructions.
• Attention to detail and team-oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

• Use approved cleaning methods and materials for assigned facilities.
• Operate and maintain floor scrubbers, buffers, stripping machines, and vacuums.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, and polish floors.
• Empty trash and maintain restrooms and janitorial closets.
• Remove stains from rugs, walls, and floors as needed.
• Dust and clean walls, ceilings, light fixtures.
• Move furniture and equipment to access areas.
• Document cleaning activities on logs and report to supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance and report safety items.

Primary Responsibilities

• Use approved methods and materials in cleaning and caring for assigned facility.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as; auto floor scrubbers, burnishing buffers, stripping machines and vacuums.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• General cleaning furniture, window sills, and walls.
• Dust, wash walls, clean ceilings, and polish light fixtures.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas.
• Clean/stock all restroom, janitorial closet and break rooms.
• Record and document all cleaning functions on appropriate logs and report to Supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance duties as needed.
• Report any major safety item for repair.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Education: High school diploma, GED or technical school certification
• Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• 0-6 months custodial/ janitorial experience using floor scrubbers, buffers, stripping machines.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
