Job summary

DM Burr Group seeks a Full Time Custodian for the 2nd shift in Cedarville, MI (Les Cheneaux School District). Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:00pm–11:30pm. Wage: $17.75/hour with DailyPay available and a path to stable, consistent work.

The role requires cleaning duties, floor care with scrubbers/ buffers, trash removal, restroom stocking, and light maintenance. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, be able to lift 40 lbs, and follow written and verbal instructions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or technical school certification.
• Self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision.
• 0–6 months custodial/janitorial experience with floor scrubbers/buffers.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Read and follow label instructions on cleaning supplies.
• Follow basic verbal and written instructions.
• Pay close attention to detail.
• Must have team aptitude and approach.

Responsibilities

• Use approved cleaning methods and materials to care for the facility.
• Operate and maintain equipment (floor scrubbers, buffers, stripping machines, vacuums).
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors with industrial machines.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• Remove stains on surfaces as needed with cleaning solutions.
• Clean furniture, window sills, walls and general areas.
• Dust, wash walls, ceilings, and light fixtures.
• Move cabinets and equipment for cleaning access.
• Stock restrooms, janitorial closet and break rooms.
• Record cleaning logs and report to Supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance as needed.
• Report major safety items for repair.

Primary Responsibilities

• Use approved methods and materials in cleaning and caring for assigned facility.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as; auto floor scrubbers, burnishing buffers, stripping machines and vacuums.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• May remove stains from such surfaces as rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• General cleaning furniture, window sills, and walls.
• Dust, wash walls, clean ceilings, and polish light fixtures.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas.
• Clean/stock all restroom, janitorial closet and break rooms.
• Record and document all cleaning functions on appropriate logs and report to Supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance duties as needed.
• Report any major safety item for repair.
• Other duties as assigned.
