Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Cat Scan Technician for days with on-call responsibilities. The role includes reviewing orders, educating patients, administering contrast when needed, and ensuring imaging quality across procedures.

Qualifications

• Two year certificate or higher in Nuclear Medicine or related field.
• Graduate from a Nuclear Medicine program; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current Radiation Operator Certificate and ARRT Radiology registration.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Review patient history and orders to guide imaging.
• Educate patients on procedures, equipment and exam expectations.
• Prepare and administer contrast media within scope of practice.
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes appropriately.
• Prepare equipment and supplies for imaging procedures.
• Maintain safety standards and perform quality control on equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report issues.
• Position patients and perform imaging procedures.
• Analyze images and address quality concerns.
• Adjust positioning or repeat procedures to improve results.
• Enter, transmit and report scan results.
• Be available on-call and report to facility within 30 minutes when called.
