Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center is seeking a Cat Scan Technician for weekdays with rotating weekends and holidays, on-call. This full-time days shift offers a sign-on bonus of $8,000 and opportunities to work in a 355-bed acute care facility.

Qualifications

• Requires 2-year certificate or higher in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent
• Must be a graduate of a Nuclear Medicine program; bachelor’s preferred
• Current Radiation Operator Certificate and ARRT Radiology registration required
• BLS certification required

Responsibilities

• Review patient history and physician orders.
• Educate patient about procedures, equipment and exams to ensure understanding.
• Administer contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice when ordered.
• Monitor patient condition and report changes promptly.
• Prepare equipment and supplies.
• Adhere to safety standards and perform quality control on equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and report malfunctions.
• Position patient and perform imaging procedures.
• Analyze results and identify image quality issues.
• Take action to resolve image quality problems, including repositioning and repeating procedures.
• Enter and report scan results; adhere to on-call assignments and respond within 30 minutes when required.
