Job summary

UPMC Harrisburg is seeking a Lead CT Technologist to support the CT Scan department. The role includes performing advanced CT procedures, coordinating daily workflow, and leading staff orientation and training.

A strong focus on QA and protocol development will be expected, with responsibilities also including contributing to recruitment and performance discussions. Qualified candidates will have ARRT or CNMT credentials, BLS/CPR, and CT experience (3+ years).

• BLS/CPR certification.

Job description

UPMC is seeking a Lead CT Technologist to support the CT Scan department at UPMC Harrisburg. Location: UMPC Harrisburg. Employment Type: Full-Time. Schedule: Days - Monday-Friday 8am - 4pm Rotating holiday and on-call required. Generous $20,000 sign-on bonus available for eligible new hires.

Purpose

In addition to performing imaging procedures at an advanced level, coordinates workflow, assists with projects and coordinates educational activities. Functions as a working technologist and distributes workload to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Assists with quality assurance projects and assists in the development of exam protocols alongside of or in place of advanced technologists and communicates results back to departmental leadership.
• Performs all responsibilities of CT Tech I and Advanced CT Tech II.
• Leads orientation and training for new hires, students and other medical personnel; ensures competencies are completed in the required time frame. Responsible for offering remediation with technologists when necessary.
• Coordinates daily workflow and schedule of the department while maintaining staffing levels based on, but not limited to, call offs, vacations, patient volumes, and training needs.
• Assists in talent acquisition interviews for successful recruitment of technologist candidates and provides feedback for annual performance reviews.
• Assumes the leadership role in the absence of the supervisor.

Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of accredited CNMT program.

CT Specialty Boards Completed.

3 Years CT Experience Required.

Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

• ARRT Certificate OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
• Act 33 with renewal
• Act 34 with renewal
• Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
