Job summary

UPMC Carlisle is seeking a CT Technologist to perform imaging procedures at an advanced level with supervision as needed. You will provide patient care, operate specialty imaging equipment, and collaborate with Radiologists on protocol development.

The position is full-time in Carlisle, with a day schedule that includes rotating on-call and holiday coverage. New grads may access the loan repayment program up to $9,000 and a $20,000 sign-on bonus, as described by UPMC.

Qualifications

• Performs imaging procedures at an advanced level, with independence and without constant supervision.
• Provides patient care per up-to-date protocols and procedures.
• Collaborates with Radiologists and healthcare team on imaging quality and standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives.
• Assist with the training of staff and student technologists.
• Monitors quality control activities and demonstrates advanced knowledge in Diagnostic Imaging while delivering patient care.
• Demonstrates competency with specialty equipment (e.g., 3D recon, cardiac scanning) and analyzes data promptly.
• Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups.
• Works independently, covers shifts and on-call responsibilities, and communicates with leads and management.
• Performs all job responsibilities of CT Tech I.
• Works with Radiologists on protocol development.

Purpose:

Performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of advanced technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities:

• Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives.
• Assist with the training of staff and student technologists.
• Monitors quality control activities and demonstrates advanced level of knowledge in Diagnostic Imaging by providing patient care as defined by the most up to day protocols and procedures.
• Demonstrates competency of specialty equipment (i.e. 3D recon, cardiac scanning, etc.) and analyzes data promptly.
• Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups.
• Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team.
• Performs all job responsibilities of CT Tech I.
• Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development.
