Job summary

UPMC West Shore in Mechanicsburg is seeking a CT Technologist to perform advanced imaging procedures with minimal supervision, supporting patient care and radiology protocols. This full-time role involves 9am–9pm rotations, on-call and holiday coverage, and opportunities for professional growth within a supportive environment.

Responsibilities include QA and regulatory testing, training staff and students, monitoring quality control, and collaborating with radiologists on protocol development.

• Monitors quality control activities and demonstrates advanced knowledge in Diagnostic Imaging by adhering to up-to-date protocols.
• Demonstrates competency with specialty equipment (e.g., 3D reconstruction, cardiac scanning) and analyzes data promptly.
• Participates in system-level standardization workgroups.
• Covers shifts on-call and at satellite facilities as needed while coordinating with leadership.
• Performs all job responsibilities of CT Tech I.
• Collaborates with Radiologists on protocol development.

Location: UPMC West Shore

Employment Type:Full-Time

Schedule: 9am - 9pm rotating Monday through Friday. Rotating on-call and holidays are required

Candidates will be placed in the correct job title/salary grade within career ladder based on education and experience.

Purpose:

Performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of advanced technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities:

• Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives.
• Assist with the training of staff and student technologists.
• Monitors quality control activities and demonstrates advanced level of knowledge in Diagnostic Imaging by providing patient care as defined by the most up to day protocols and procedures.
• Demonstrates competency of specialty equipment (i.e. 3D recon, cardiac scanning, etc.) and analyzes data promptly.
• Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups.
• Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team.
• Performs all job responsibilities of CT Tech I.
• Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development.
