Job summary

Blue Origin on Merritt Island is seeking a Sr. Fluid Distribution Subsystem Responsible Engineer/Technical Lead for the Fluids team working on the Lunar Permanence pathfinding mission. You will own the liquid subsystem baseline, manage schedules and risks, and coordinate with suppliers to deliver cryogenic components for the Moon.

You will guide technical trades, mentor the team, and lead cross-functional meetings to ensure cradle-to-grave subsystem success and high-quality spaceflight hardware.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in fluids and mechanical systems/components.
• Experience developing, integrating and certifying aerospace systems for flight.
• Experience with fluid/gas components (solenoid valves, directional valves, manifolds, regulators, pressure vessels, instrumentation).
• Experience leading small teams and subcontractor teams to accomplish objectives.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
• Familiar with either Agile or Waterfall project management.
• Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.
• Ability to earn trust and maintain professional relationships.

Responsibilities

• Define, own, and control the liquid subsystem technical baseline with technical leadership.
• Define, own, and control the subsystem cost and schedule baseline.
• Manage external procurements and internal hardware dependencies for subsystem deliveries.
• Lead technical trades on cryogenic systems that meet vehicle and customer needs.
• Develop program plans to meet milestones and deliverables.
• Mentor the team with development strategies and best practices.
• Lead cryogenic development meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Cradle-to-grave ownership of cryogenic subsystem.
