Job summary

UAB Medicine seeks a Lead CRNA to coordinate anesthesia services under physician direction for diverse surgical procedures at the UAB St. Vincent’s Birmingham campus. The team includes 15 anesthesiologists and 70+ CRNAs, offering opportunities to advance practice in a university-affiliated community setting.

You will participate in clinical instruction of nurse anesthesia students and serve as a clinical resource, mentoring staff and ensuring coverage and safety across multiple operating rooms.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program.
• Two years of related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating treatments and procedures.
• Evaluates patients preoperatively to assess physical status and anesthetic risks and prepares for anesthesia.
• Administers anesthetics during surgical, obstetric, therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
• Leads daily operations; ensures adequate staff coverage and delegates workload.
• Mentors and coaches allied health personnel and student nurse anesthetists.
