Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a CRNA to lead the coordination of anesthesia services at the UAB St. Vincent’s Birmingham campus, joining a large team that serves 53 operating rooms and >50,000 procedures annually.

The role offers opportunities for clinical instruction of nurse anesthesia students, with autonomy and a collegial environment among anesthesiologists and surgeons. Requires graduation from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program and Alabama APN/CRNA certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program with two years of related experience required.
• Currently certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) with Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Specialty by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care by coordinating anesthesia services under the direction of an anesthesiologist for diverse surgical procedures and diagnostic tests.
• Lead daily operations, ensure adequate staff coverage, and mentor staff.
• Perform pre- and post-anesthesia evaluation, including informed consent and follow-up on complications.
