Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a highly skilled Paramedic to perform high-acuity critical care transport and emergency medical services. You will work with MEC clinical guidelines and MIEMSS protocols, coordinating care with base station physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires national paramedic certification, Maryland license, and current BLS/ACLS/PALS with a plan to obtain CCP-C or FP-C within 18 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3 years EMS/critical care transport experience at ALS level or higher.
• Current Nationally Registered Paramedic.
• Maryland Paramedic license.
• AHA BLS certification.
• AHA ACLS certification.
• PALS certification or equivalent.
• CCP-C or FP-C within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity critical care and emergency transport.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and document findings.
• Lead and coordinate clinical care in MEC transport environment.
• Initiate life support therapies under physician guidance.
• Communicate patient status and interventions to receiving team.
• Maintain competencies and participate in education and quality initiatives.
