Job summary
Mission Pet Health is seeking a Lead Credentialed Veterinary Technician to provide skilled medical care under a veterinarian's direction while supervising the technical team. This role supports hospital operations, mentors teammates, and fosters a collaborative clinical culture across a network of practices in Chicago, IL.
Ideal candidates will be AVMA-accredited graduates with current credentials, 3+ years of licensed experience, and strong communication.
Qualifications
- Must have graduated from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technician program.
- Must hold an active, in-good-standing Credentialed Veterinary Technician license in the applicable state.
- At least 3 years of licensed technician experience with demonstrated leadership or mentorship.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient care under DVM supervision across nursing, anesthesia, surgery, radiology, and dentistry.
- Mentor and lead the technical team; provide coaching and onboarding support.
- Partner with hospital leadership to coordinate workflows and implement protocols for efficiency.
- Educate clients on treatment plans and empower informed healthcare decisions.
- Oversee inventory of medical supplies and pharmacy items; ensure equipment is maintained and documented.
- Maintain accurate patient records with clear medical terminology and documentation.
