The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS), seeks an experienced attorney to join the General Counsel's Office as Assistant General Counsel for Litigation and Public Records. You will support MassHealth and other EOHHS programs in complex litigation, regulatory matters, and public records responses, working with agency leadership and external partners.

The role requires managing all phases of litigation, advising on risk and compliance, and drafting

Competenze

• At least three (3) years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, legal practice with Bar membership.
• Membership in the Massachusetts Bar.
• Strong legal research, analysis, and advocacy skills, including drafting motions, briefs, memoranda, and opinions.
• Experience managing complex litigation and advising on legal risk and compliance.
• Effective oral and written communication; ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills across diverse teams.

Mansioni

• Represent EOHHS and MassHealth in litigation, regulatory, and public records matters in state and federal forums.
• Manage all phases of litigation from discovery to trial preparation.
• Provide legal guidance on public records requests and compliance.
• Collaborate with the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office and other partners on litigation strategy.
• Advise agency leadership on regulatory and policy issues.
• Support MassHealth recovery initiatives in probate and superior court proceedings.
• Draft and revise memos, regulations, briefs, and other legal documents.
