Base pay range

$167,000.00/yr - $233,000.00/yr

Meta’s Employment Law group seeks a Lead Counsel, Labor & Employment to advise and manage employment law litigation for Meta’s various business units. The candidate should be flexible with extended hours and across time zones. This role offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge issues in a dynamic environment, supporting a leading tech organization.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide counseling to HR and Employee Relations teams on employment matters such as terminations, investigations, accommodations, and reorganizations.
2. Collaborate with attorneys and cross-functional partners on advice and counseling.
3. Manage employment-related projects, including process reviews and program implementations.
4. Draft and review employment documents, agreements, and correspondence.
5. Assess legal risks and resolve employment disputes.
6. Contribute to training on employment law topics, such as harassment and managerial training.
7. Lead strategy on pre-litigation and litigation issues.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. J.D. degree or foreign equivalent.
2. At least 5 years of legal experience, including law firm, in-house, or government roles.
3. At least 5 years in labor and employment law.
4. Active membership in a US state bar and eligibility for in-house counsel registration if required.
5. Experience with federal and state employment laws and legal advising.
6. Litigation experience and project management skills.
7. Strong business judgment and client counseling skills.
8. Effective communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. In-house legal experience.
2. Experience in tech companies.
3. M&A diligence experience.
4. Knowledge of California and New York employment laws.

Compensation ranges from $167,000 to $233,000 annually, plus bonuses, equity, and benefits, determined by skills and experience.
